The Devastators second full-lenth studio album entitled "Better
Days." The new album features 15 tracks (over 70min) of original material
by the San Diego reggae four-piece. Recorded entirely at Peaks and Valleys
Studio, the album showcases the bands unique sound rooted in the style of
classic 70's Roots Reggae. Song topics range from themes of heartbreak and
love to passionate social commentaries. For Dub lovers, the last five
songs of the record transport listeners deep into a sonic journey laden with
spring reverbs and tape delays. In a departure from much of music recorded
today, the album emphasizes live instrumentation and uses no pitch correction,
click tracks, or drum machines. A host of guest musicians make an
appearance including singer James McWhinney (Big Mountain), the percussion
talents of Christian Mills and Elijah Emanuel (Elijah Emanuel & The
Revelations), and the horn section of Andy Geib (Wise Monkey Orchestra), Bob
Campbell (Big Mountain), and Jason Robinson (Groundation).
